Where did you see a picture of my room? I didn't see an actual picture of the balcony. Is there enought room for the four of us to have a glass of wine? I just checked the seating out…they changed it. We can change it back if you want. I was told that we were on a waiting list to go from the second seating to the main seating.

I really don't know why they changed the seating arrangement. I thought they had us on a waiting list. I wasn't going to change from second to first because Leonard prefered second seating. We'll have to talk about it because I can change back to second seating the first day. We always check the location of our table anyway. Being a diamond plus member, I do get perks for dining room seating. We'll have a bottle of Asti in our room if you want to join us in a pre-bon voyage drink.

I've been doing a little research on things to do in Lisbon—haven't looked at any of the Spain ports yet. I'm really looking forward to this cruise, I have a feeling it won't be our last transatlantic. Did you ever visit our cruise photo site?

at my age......one can only hope!! Wink
after seeing sonny and esther's room, i think we may have opted for way too much space.
all i can say is, we will host some cocktail parties (hopefully, if anyone will come) in our room, cause there is so much room! casey & kathy, will you be going to the meet/mingle, or attend any of the gatherings for casino slot pulls and such? (i just love a casino) Big Grin
2 weeks......and counting, tick tock

I have not signed up for any M&M's.Traveling Alone is new to us so it might be a good idea.I read some other threads where there are some Maj jong players and if Kathy finds them I won't see her 2 weeks. The pee wee golf and pub crawl does sound fun. We are both in our early 50's so I am hoping there will be others in our age group otherwise the ship might be dead after 10 and on past cruises we have our most fun between then and 2

as for cocktails, i understand room service is fabulous! and, shhhhh don't tell anyone, but cocktails will be had! Wink plenty of wine as well. casey & kathy-leonard is turning 50 and i am 45.....still active, especially in the evenings. we hope to play cards, or "bored" games if any bad weather days occur. i'm bringing poker chips and cards for just such events.
hubby and i worked extremely hard this year, and are hoping to let loose on this trip! so those pubs better not close at 10! Razz

Are you renting a car in Ireland or on a tour? driving on the OTHER side has me concerned. The reason we chose Ireland is Kathy has always wanted to stay in a haunted castle. She has been recording these shows on A&E and only now has she shown them to me,should I be scared as I am a non believer? Did you see that the weight limit on Aer Lingus is 44 lbs out of Barcelona, this is 11 lbs less than US carriers

The weight limit is 44 lbs. for one suitcase, the total for 2 is 80 lbs. If you go over the 80 pounds, you will be charged $50. I'm glad you mentioned it, we'll have to try to pack lighter. I don't like this! If we have on piece of luggage that's 44 lbs., the other can only be 36 pounds. They do allow a third piece of check-in luggage up to 70 pounds, and they charge you $125. I feel sorry for those that aren't aware of this.

as for the rental car,.....NO! gas is 10$ liter, and my hubby can't drive on the right side of the road.....so i can't see him attempting the left! taxi, train, buses, etc for us. the bartender at our hotel has e-mailed me letting me know that he has access to private drivers that charge per day. that will come in handy for any sightseeing.
as for the new weight allowances on luggage, i am kind of bummed. i feel like we should be "grandfathered" in on the rules that applied at the time of purchase! so i guess the $140 that we get back on fuel surplus will go to the airlines for excess baggage. Mad
but at this point in the game......i'm just happy to be going! Big Grin

even as a non-believer....the castles will feel and sound scary, because any structure that old will make noises and creeks and echos......ooooh! Eek
but the old tales and legends still seem fascinating to me, as i am sure you will find also. ahhhhh.....guinness!

There two things I would like to do: See a ghost, and board a UFO. What do you think my chances are for either one of those to happen?

Have you ever not put your luggage out at night and just carried it off the ship. With such an early flight out I don't want any problems and I'm very impressed by how you guys do all those icons.

We always put our luggage out the night before. Our luggage is always waiting for us when we get through customs. It's bad enough just taking our carry-on luggage off the ship.

I got a tease today when I went to the store after our liitle league parade.Little fruit cups with watermelon and honeydew and it was 12 dollars. I can't wait to invade the windjammer for all that fresh fruit I've been missing all winter for breakfast!

$12 for a cup of fruit? Sounds pretty pricy! Can you imagine how much you'd have to pay if you were charged for all the fruit you're going to eat on this cruise? Less than two weeks to go.
