Hi Hester I haven't been on the Caribbean yet but I have seen lots of handicapped people on cruises and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. I know you will have a great cruise

The cruise will be what you make it. I think a walker would be handy for the days your energy is good and you want to stretch your legs.

Hi Hester,
I took my mother-in-law on a Princess cruise in March 05 and she used a walker and never had a problem. Off the ship she used her cain/walker as needed. She had such a good time we leave again DEC 3rd, 05. My mother has been cruising for yrs and uses a cain to get around. Again no problems. Both use a wheelchair to access and depart the ship. They love the attention.

Do you know if there is a way to get someone to the beach. ATV or something?? It would be a shame to not be able to actually go to the beach. We are doing the So. Caribbean in January and my sister in law has difficulty getting around. Just wondering. Thanks

That would depend on the beach. I would ask the cruise line or contact the purser's desk on the ship. I'm sure something could be arranged.
