Any suggestions for Cozumel tours that have easy access for someone who has difficulty walking (knee problems)? My mother will be using a rented scooter on board the Mariner of the Seas, and I know we can bring it over on the tender boat, but I'm unclear what we will be able to do from there. This will be her first experience with using a scooter. She can walk short distances, and I wonder if we should even bring the scooter on shore. I'm not familiar with Cozumel and would appreciate any suggestions on this.

Cozumel used to be a sleeply little Mexican fishing village that had fabulous beaches and diving. Once the cruise industry found it, that all changed. Unfortunately, the infrastructure of Cozumel was not developed to handle 20,000 people walking around downtown shopping. It is crowded, the sidewalks narror and it is hot.

My advice would be to grad a taxi to one of the beach clubs and spend the day there. Your Mom could relax in the shade while everyone has a great time doing what they want.

Check out the special reports on the various beaches Cozumel offers on http://www.PortReviews.com and that should help you make a decision.

Thanks for the suggestion. Staying aboard ship and relaxing by the pool that day is sounding better and better.

It wouldn't be a bad choice at all.
