Hi everyone! I have a M-I-L that is in a wheelchair with severe Arthritist and she also has a colostomy. My husband and I would like to take her on a short cruise this winter to somplace warm. I have read some of your comments and disappointments on these boards and would like to try and avoid as many pitfalls as possible. I thought a short Bahamas 3-4 day would be good. My MIL is not very tolerant with mishaps, so maybe we should not take her at all. She can only walk a very short distance with a walker and can not do stairs. So I need your most important imput. I know I will have questions about your info so bear with me. I need all the help I can get in this situation and I have cruised 4 times but I need info from a hadicapped person's view. Thanks so much, Leslie

She should have a great time. Make sure you get an accessible cabin and simply focus on having a good time and it will be a very memorable experience for your family.

In ports, debark after the crowds and take short walks and just enjoy the surroundings. Forget any tender ports and just spoend the day on the ship enjoying yourselves. Take whatever entertainment you are likely to enjoy with her and focus on the good times. Do not go without trip insurance and plan to arrive a day in advance to enjoy the port city.

Let us know how it goes.
