I just finished reading yet another useless article by the Economic Policy Institute spouting statistic after statistic about how fewer and fewer people have health insurance in the United States. I'm sick of debates on who pays (public or private sector) or how we pay (Universal Heath Insurance or Employer provided). How about we get to the root of the problem: Why it costs so much. If it was less costly more Social programs, Public programs, and Employer insurance programs would exist and cover more people.

Let me start it off with 2 of my favorites
1. Unnecessary Medical Procedures
2. Frivolous Legislation

What else can we list that adds unnecessary cost to medical care or insurance.

I'm no expert at all on american health politics, or health politics in genereal, but to me it seems horrible and unreal that a persons health is depending on the size of his wallet.

I haven't seen Michael Moore's SICKO yet, but planning to. I'm aware he's quite extreme in his film making, and quess he is sometimes twisting the truth to his advantage, but is his message in this film believeable?

I was in getting some Xrays. The Tech had been there 10 years, said in another 5 she could retire with complete beanies for her and the family. She would only have to pay very little a month for the insurance.
If this is true... the Hospitals give out too much to their employees. We end up paying for that!!!
Don't forget about lawsuits!!!

Hey Folks, while this is the Lido Deck do we really want to get into things like health care insurance? This is something that can rapidly careen out of control and cause needless pain.

Just a thought....
