This might be fun to find out our varying musical interests.

Some of my favorite songs are:

Jackson Browne - These Days and Sky Blue and Black;
Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight (Remember Miami Vice and Risky Business?)
Mark Cohn - Walking in Memphis;
Don Henley - Boys of Summer;
Peter Gabriel - In your Eyes.

Now, if those songs don't date me, I don't know what does.

From oldest to youngest:
Don Henley 07/22/1947 age 60
Jackson Browne 10/09/1948 age 58
Peter Gabriel 02/13/1950 age 57
Phil Collins 01/30/1951 age 56
Mark Cohn 07/05/1959 age 48
Yep... that's pretty dated material.
If you are not familiar with the story behind the Phil Collins song that you mentioned, I highly suggest that you read up on it. It's tragic and fascinating at the same time.

Well, at least I'm younger than everyone except Mark! Regarding In the Air Tonight, I thought it was about Phil's bitter divorce, but I see there are some references to someone drowning (although there are many interpretations on who drowned).

Those are all great! My "new" favorite song is by Neil Young - Dance, Dance, Dance from his Live at Massey Hall 1971. It was just released recently and I love that song, it's a fun one.

I have always like CSN&Y as well. Really liked the 4-Way Street Live album.

My only problem...they were some of the mainstays in the anti-war movement in the late 60s and early 70s. What was Stephen Stills doing singing the national anthem at the Anaheim Ducks Stanley Cup playoff game last June? It made me feel kinda oogy.

Maybe he's mellowed a bit. I know Neil Young is still anti-war.

Those are 3 legends; I used to see them (Haggard and Nelson) regularly up at Lake Tahoe (Harrahs). One of my favorite Haggard songs, given my vocation, is "I Turned 21 in Prison...."

Have not seen either in about 10 years; I hate to say it, but my memories of them are when they still had lots of energy; not sure I want to see a subdued "I Gotta Get Drunk" or "Bloody Mary Morning."

Honestly any James William Buffet song will do.

What I really like is Tchaikovsky, fits my style. Bombastic, loud, arrogant and then so sweet it will make you cry.
