As a formah New Yawkah, and since the Redskins are MIA, I'm glad the Giants won! Of course, my daughter lives in Boston, but her team had a heck of a season, needless to say.
The outcome totally surprised me. I went to bed after New England scored their second touchdown because I thought it was over. Then I heard my hubby yelling, so I went out to watch the Giants get their second touchdown. I watched the remainder of the game, what a great ending! I was really disappointed in the commercials. Congrats to the Giants! They really kept Brady in check.
I agree Dave, except for Whitney Houston. She has her own way of singing every song she performs and had the most moving rendition I've ever heard. Have goose bumps on my goose bumps when I hear it.
Oh yes, Whitney Houston sang the anthem when the first Gulf War had just started. It was indeed one of the most stirring and emotional singings of the anthem I've ever heard. But she had a way of not making it sound goofy.
Some of the ones that try to hit "Free" and can't make my skin crawl. Dave, you hit the nail on the head, I was searching for the word to describe the commercials. Most of them were down right goofy.
Did anyone catch the Cadillac commercial that took a jab at Terrell Owens? It may have been just a local commercial but I can't find it anywhere that other commercials are listed.
...and speaking of commercials, did anyone notice the commercial towards the end with Donkey Lips? Now THERE is an old school Nickelodeon reference (Salute Your Shorts). I wonder how many people know who that is...
I think it was for the energy drink "Amp". He had the jumper cables attached to his nipples while he danced.
TERRIBLE commercial, but really funny to see that guy - good to see he has continued his success

Yes, I remember that rendition well. My Sister had just been sent to Riyadh. It was very emotional to watch and listen that night.

I didn't see the T.O. jab and I didn't see the donkey lips one, guess I missed out on those. I wonder if Tyree's catch is going to replace "The Catch" (Joe Montana to Dwight Clark)? I still don't see how Tyree held on to that. It was a great story though, his mom passed away last year, and after he made his touchdown he pointed to the sky. They said he was thanking her. I cried my eyes out when I heard that, dang, getting teared up now and I'm at work.
They were mostly bad in my opinion too. Some were downright terrible.
Glad to hear we didn't miss anything. This was our 6th Superbowl cruise, but first time doing it with Royal Caribbean. They blacked out the commercials! When I read in the cruise Compass they were blocking the commercials I couldn't believe they would do that! The tailgaiting food wasn't as good as Carnival's either.
