I was stunned to learn of Tim Russert's passing this afternoon. He was 58 years young. Regardless of your politics, I have to think that everyone liked Mr. Russert. I sure did, and we probably didn't agree on many things. He was a nice guy, very honest in my view, and proud of his blue collar roots and his family. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

I am very disappointed to hear this news. I'm still working and got up late so I haven't seen the news today. He was one of the few people in the media I always had respect for. He did his homework and didn't throw softball questions to anybody regardless of the label after their name or their politics. I don't care what a journalists views are, being fair should be part of the job description, with him it was. I'll miss him and his will be hard shoes to fill.

Cheers, Neil

I was stunned as well, and very saddened by the news. As someone that doesn't lean to the right, or to the left, he was my political news man.

He was so devoted to his father, and his family and son. This has got to be overwhelming for them. Especially on Father's day weekend.

My thoughts are with his family and friends.

We were so sad to hear the news about Tim Russert. His love and knowledge of politics was incredible. He would have enjoyed the next few months as the political storm continues. We will miss his insight and sense of humor.

Our hearts go out to his family and to his co-workers at NBC.
