I am going to buy a steamer but not sure where to buy them. The last time I was given the names of Proctor Silex & Rowenta. Any others that really work & where can I get them? I live in the suburbs of Chicago. The one that I currently have just uses too much power & I don't think it really works all that well.

i know Target has a few....i got a small hand-held one for my mom for about $25...they had a few other choices above and below that price...it looked like they also had one full size unit, for $100 or more...not sure exactly what you are looking for

Steamers... Bah humbug!!! You are on a cruise! Wear your wrinkles with pride. In the professional world you have to be perfectly pressed, starched, and manicured. While on a ship... just have fun and savor the casualness. Cool

cant argue that

plus, even a small, hand-held steamer takes up alot of luggage space

Before our last cruise I purchased a steamer from Target. I tried to get it to work and I was not impressed. I wound up sticking to the bottle of Downy spray. Worked much better in my opinion. Also took up less room in the luggage!

For anyone going soon on Celebrity, read What not to Pack on Celebrity's Web site. Looks like steamers are now a no-no. This is news to me... I was innocently looking up something else for a friend when this caught my attention.

I have an American Tourister one. It probably came from Wal-mart, Target, or JCPenney. I remember it was in the luggage section, because I picked up some luggage tags at the same time.

Haven't used it very much other than some touch ups on the formal nights though. I give my dress shirts to the Steward to get pressed. My casual clothes seem to self un-wrinkle from the humidity, or I just don't notice. Good luck, and just make sure it is allowed to be brought onboard as Lisa noted about the policy on Celebrity.
