That reminded me of an "I Love Lucy" episode when she was over in France and ordered Escargot not knowing what it was. They brought her the snails and the clasps to pull them out with. She put the clasps on her nose and poked at the snails with the fork.
I look so forward to the escargot on the ship. We used to be able to purchase them, live, in the states. They can still be purchased in Canada. They are delicious in a red sauce, served over linguine. My aunt in Montreal used to throw them, shell and all, into the sauce and cook them. What great flavor.
But, since they are impossible to get anymore, I will eagerly devour them on the ship. Two orders please.

Personally, if it slithers on the ground I don't want it. Now give me a good reindeer hotdog any day. If you go to Alaska, you have got to try one. My cousin even sends them to me from Alaska (and yes they are frozen and stay that way until they get here). This year when she came down she brought us King crab, a Copper River red salmon (which she says is the best you can get, but I don't like salmon), reindeer hotdogs and reindeer polish sausage (yeah, I know poor Rudolph). She also brought musk ox jerky and caribou jerky. Oh yeah, can't forget the moose burger as well. Okay, now I am hungry
