GO VIKINGS - Purple pride. I also root for whomever is playing the Packers. A true Minnesotan roots for the Vikings, not the Packers. Shoot, when I lived in California I rooted for the Vikings. My only hope this year is that since Randy Moss is now on the Patriots, that they don't even come close to making it to the play-offs.

Any team that refuses to sign or even enter contract negotiations Michael Vick after he's tried, convicted and punished with a severe scolding and slap on the wrist.
So, you don't think he will do time? I sure hope he does. And, I hope he never plays football again. We have to start somewhere proving that if you do the crime you will do time. But, then again, Nicole Ritchie got less than two hours in jail and Paris Hilton got something like 3 days, so I'm probably asking for too much.

I know it doesn't rhyme, and it's not cute, but with their propensity to get arrested, shouldn't it be the Cincinnati Felons? (I know, few have been convicted, yet).

Of course in NCAA football, the felon title goes to Florida State. People think those tomahawk stickers they wear on their helmets are for big plays. They actually get one each time they are bailed out of jail.
ok you guys....enough !! since we are talking football teams lets mention the proper football teams shall we ? please meet the major London teams Arsenal,Chelsea,Spurs & WestHam and from the north Manchester Utd, Liverpool FC , Newcastle oh the list goes on & on ok you now have David Beckham in LA but your next world class player must surely be widow twankey ok lets see you rush to defend the teams you think are so good. Lets be honest most americans don't even go to soccer do they ? regards jack

Although I was pretty good at it in high school gym class, I've never cared for soccer nor understood the fascination with it. To me it is horrifically boring to watch it on TV. Sorry, but I can't sugar coat it!
In the UK we call soccer.....football no wonder I got confused when digdmr posted favorite football teams but really meant American football teams.....you all thought I taken one of psychocruisers pills by mistake didn't you ?

Actually, American Football evolved from Rugby. Right? Except the rugby players don't wear all that protective padding and helmets?
And American Baseball evolved from cricket. Right? Except what we call a "pitcher", in cricket is called a "bowler". And a pitcher does not take a running start like a bowler in cricket?
Back in 1984, when the summer Olympics were in Los Angeles, the preliminary soccer matches were held in four or five locations around the country, including Stanford Statdium in Palo Alto, CA.
As I was employed by Stanford University to park cars and direct traffic at their football (American football, that is) games, I was asked to do the same at the preliminary Olympic soccer matches. I got into the games for free, and was truly dismayed. The game that turned me off completely was Germany against France, I think. I know it was Germany; but, at any rate, these guys were falling and grabbing their legs at the slightest hint of contact. Both teams exhibited flopping to it's greatest extent. It was unwatchable; and ever since, I haven't been able to watch. Not even with the expectation some young woman is going to rip off her shirt after a shootout goal. And let's not forget the civilized fans at soccer games; I mean, you always hear about fans throwing urine and blood bombs onto the field. How about the refs being attacked by dissenting fans?
Yeah, American football has it's role models, like Michael Vick, Pacman Jones, OJ Simpson, and the Raider Nation, but c'mon. For the most part, it pales next to soccer and its' rabid fans. And for the record, the NFL, is no longer watchable, either (largely because of the behavior of too many of the players-i.e. Bill Romanowski spitting in JJ Stoke's face).
And yet, I still like hockey. I am a paradox.
