I'm about to join my mentors Dave, Sonny and Rick as a cruise guru. That's pretty cool! Just wanted to say thanks for tolerating me, I've enjoyed being part of Cruise-Chat family and look forward to becoming a "has been" next. How many posts before I get that status?
I can tell you now, I was a little resentful at first; who is this new kid in town, all over the place, with all the right answers? Egos can be terrible. But once I got past mine, I realized what a great guy you are. No hidden agenda; no ulterior motive; just a guy who happens to be in the business and has a passion for cruising and love for people, and for helping people, that shines through in every post.
So congratulations, "new guru"; and I look forward to becoming "has beens" together.

Well done, have always found your posts interesting & informative......and I particularly like the way that you are always honest and upfront with your posts, being more interested in giving a balanced answer to questions.
So I look forward to seeing more of your posts but now with the status of " guru "

Dwayne, I forgot you have a friend in my hometown. I'm missing the mountains, changing of the leaves and even winter and snow. As much as I love cruising, I'm gonna have to plan a trip soon back to KY. There is a lake in central KY called Lake Cumberland, beautiful place. Learned to water ski there and caught my first fish there. I can still vacation there on the water too. Think I'll check into renting a houseboat and revisit the footsteps of my youth in the near future.
Yeah, My best friend still has his Mom and Sister up in Ashland. I miss the mountains this time of year too, but just got back from vacation. May plan a trip up that way in early spring. I grew up in Grundy, Va. just a few miles from the Ky. line and about 40 miles from Pikeville. Have lived on flat land now for almost 25 years, so everytime I go back now the roads flip me out. We don't have any roads here that have signs that say "Watch for fallen rocks"

Congrats TrvlPro, thank you for all of your valuable and accurate posts. I sure enjoy reading them and love your avatar. Either of you ever heard of Olive Hill, KY? That's were I drove out of when I drove the tractor/trailer. It's right near the Virginia border. Cute little town.
Penny, I've heard of and think I've been to Olive Hill. Been too long to remember but that rings lots of bells, just can't seem to remember when or why I'd have been there.
Thanks to you and Jack for your posts and Jack, congrats on your new title as well. I always have enjoyed both yours and Penny's posts also. I love this site. I tried another one that comes up in here from time to time (regretably) and found I really didn't like it there. Haven't been back since. Didn't have the personal touch or civility this site has. And it would drive me nuts (short trip) that wrong info was common and people would fight to defend thier mis-information.
You mean that site where people swear they routinely get upgraded from an inside to a suite, and when you throw the "bravo sierra" flag on them they argue? Yeah, it is a tedious place.
Not wanting to sound condescending, but we strive to be a nitwit-free zone here.
Yes Dave, that's the place. I hate it that I can't stand being on that one... even for short visits. I'd love to be able to go there and feel comfortable because the topic you know I care about is frequently bashed and there is noone to give opposing views once it gets legs. The short time I was there I tried and was assaulted as some kind of outsider spy or con-man with a hidden agenda.
Just not worth feeling dirty to bother visiting. Thank you and the rest of the staff and posters for providing such a great forum.
