We are toward the fron of the ship.. I have heard that the front is not the best place to be due to the waves. What kind of ride can we expect. We are leaving from Long Beach to Hawaii.
Don't worry about it. Unless you are in heavy seas the ride in the front is not noticeably different than the ride anywhere else on the ship. It isn't as though you'll encounter waves breaking over the bow, but if you did the ride wouldn't be much fun anywhere on the ship.
I agree with you Dave, people put a lot of emphasis on location which I find to be negligible. If you hit really rough seas it doesn't seem to be much of a difference where you are although being on deck looking at the horizon seems to help lots of people. I'm sure a few of the people with sever sea sickness might disagree with me.
The first couple of days out of Los Angeles can be a little rough; but then it usually calms down and is very nice. Golden Princess would handle rough weather as well as any other ship.
