My travel agent has put a hold on cabin D720 on the Sapphire Princess for a Northbound cruise to Alaska. Does anyone have any thoughts on this cabin? Thanks in advance for your opinions.
You'll be in a port side, aft mini suite on Dolphin deck. That would suit me fine. It doesn't get much better than that. There won't be an activity deck above you or below you, just cabins. So no disco or childrens play area to create noise. I'd say your agent did you right. Have a great cruise!
Just keep in mind that all those mini-suite balconies on Dolphin Deck are totally open (no covering) and you have no privacy from the folks above you on their balconies (A,B and C deck).
Thanks. I actually decided to move to the Caribe deck to save a little money. I read somewhere that the balcony cabins on that deck are partially covered by the balcony cabin one deck above. Anyone know if that's true?
I would only give you one "heads up" regarding the Dolphin Deck mini-suites. The balconies on that deck are entirely open (no covering) and you will be in total view of anyone on the balconies above you in A, B, or C decks. This is not an issue for most passengers, but some do not like this situation.
Yes, your Caribe Deck balcony (assuming it's not aft-facing) will be half covered, and half open above. As Hank mentioned, that would not be the case with Dolphin Deck. The trade-off, though, is that there is much more room within the mini-suite than the balcony cabin--yet, if there are just two of you, you would certainly have plenty of room in the balcony cabin.
