I am booked in an inside cabin on the Grand Princess for a 14 day Carribean cruise. This is my 3rd Carribean cruise. On the first 2 cruises (10 days) I was booked in a state room with a window (unobstructed). I am concerned that 14 days is a long time for an interior cabin with no natural light. I am not a night hawk and tend to be a early riser. Any thoughts will I be disappointed?

I will be honest with you: I would not want to do two weeks in an inside cabin. But it is a very individual decision. Grand Princess has a lot of great areas, both outdoors and indoors: from very active to very quiet. There would be no need to use your cabin for anything but sleeping and changing.

I don't know if you chose an inside to save money, or that is all that was available. From what I've seen, there isin't that big a difference in the fare between an inside and outside.

Personally, I would rather spend a little more and get an outside, or since it is the Caribbean, a balcony. But you just need to think about how much time you plan to spend in your cabin. Think back to your two 10 days. If you spent a fair amount of time in the cabin, I would seriously consider an upgrade.

But inside or outside, you are going to be on a beautiful ship for two weeks; one of our members just got off Grand Princess and said everything has just been refreshed and the ship is in great shape.

Thanks for your comments, yes you are right we did not spend much time in the cabin in the past. I was more concern with the darkness (no natural light).

They are dark when you turn out the lights, no question about it. For anything longer than a 5 day, I personally, couldn't handle an inside. Especially in the Caribbean, I want a balcony. However, if it was a choice between an inside or no cruise at all, I'd jump on the inside. You can always switch on a light

Make sure you get a wake up call because you will not ever know if it night or day. People that say you only sleep in your room are full of it. If you have a nice room (at least an outside) you tent to spend more time in your room especially on sea days. BTW the OV cabins on the Emerald deck are usually Priced only a little more then an inside and on the Grand Class ships they all have a good view of the ocean (you can see above the lifeboats).

We have been only been in inside cabins on Grand princess, and the shortest cruise on it was 11 days. They are bigger than the ones on NCL Jewel. It is dark, great for sleeping, but you may wish to use an alarm clock that lights up to show the time. On the other hand, some people have a great built in alarm system and will wake up at the same time no matter how light/dark it is. We had no problems with an inside cabin, you can be in or out of it as much as you like. The Grand princess has lots of places to go sit if you don't care to be inside.
