Ok just got home and heard the news!!! read many of your comments. Safe or not safe is the question. I was so looking forward to this - my summer vacation. This is only my 2nd cruise and the longest one. I am scheduled to sail on the Aug 16th Crown Princess leaving NY and headed to the Carribean.

Princess won't allow the ship to sail if it's not safe. The US Coast Guard won't allow the ship to sail out of a US port with passengers if the ship is not deemed to be safe. So, go and enjoy yourself.

Wave Don't worry! Be happy!

Thousands of cruises take place each month ..one accident and people freak out. you will most likely have no misshap such as this.

I look at it this way
...For Flying or Cruiseing.
If there was an accident that year you know darn well all planes or cruise ships will be monitored closer for safety than before the accident. so the odds are with me that I'll be ok.

Relax and get ready for your cruise..
I flew a few weeks after The 911 attack and felt safer than ever.

Just my 3 Cents

im going on the crown princess on saturday, just 4 days after the incident and i feel safe. Tonight on the news they said it was the captains fault and not a malfunction. You shouldnt be afraid to go. It is more dangerous to drive and have higher odds of something happening to you on the road.

please continue here, as it is confusing to have multiple threads on the same topic. Thank you. Smile
