RCCL did not have irons-always had to bring one. Sailing Princess in December and want to know if they are offered in suites and cabins?

Per Raoul:

irons are considered a major fire hazard and are not permitted in cabins. A good alternative is a portable steamer.

Hi Cruisemama-

We're sailing on 12/16. A last efort for a family trip-kids are 22-25 and just finishing college and grad school.

Because of the fire safety issue, I also do not recommend bringing an iron on your cruise. I believe Grand Princess may have self-service laundry rooms, though - Golden Princess does - and there may be an iron in there that you can use in the laundry center (but not in your cabin!)

Yes, the Grand Princess has an ironing room complete with irons and ironing boards to do your ironing on.

The irons worked just as well as any hotel iron does, and there was never a line to use them.

They are apart of the laundry rooms that are located on most all of the cabin floors.

Thank you everybody for the education. We'll leave the iron at home!

Just back from an awesome 2 weeks on the Grand.
The irons in the laundry rooms work fine.

I was very lucky to take advantage of my comp laundry & dry cleaning - what an awesome Elite perk!!!

Hope you enjoy the Grand as I did.
