A couple more questions for this first time cruiser...

Cash machines - do they exist on Princess ships?

Internet access - I'm bringing my laptop to save photos on every day. Curious if the ships have wi-fi internet access in the rooms? If so, free or cost?

I've seen ATMs on ships, but have never used them. I have noticed that the fees are very high, though.

Not only are the fees high, I don't think I've ever seen an ATM on a ship that was operational for the whole cruise.

We were on Star Princess in January. We also like to take the laptop to load pictures from our digital camera. Nice to view the pics at the end of a day. The ship does offer wireless but I found it so slow that it was faster to use the computers in the Internet library. It was .50/minute using their PC or my own laptop. Therefore, I decided it wasn't worth the effort to take the laptop to the Atrium to pick up the wireless. We would stop by the Internet Library when we were in the area and didn't have to worry about taking the computer back to our room.

If you would like to check out our pictures, I have posted them on our personal website.

I have not seen ATMs on Princess ships; but then I never looked for one. But I don't think they have them. You can cash travelers checks at the Passenger Services desk.

There is no wi-fi in the cabins yet. They do have it in the Atrium but as hyymom pointed out, you are better off just using their computers in the Internet Cafe.

Do you know if the computers in the library can read memory cards?

Someone with more expertise than I will have to answer that; I didn't attempt that.
