hi everyone...I just joined up, but have been reading for a few weeks now.

My name is Trace and my family (Hubby and one son who is five) are going on our first cruise March 3rd on the Star Princess to the Western Caribbean! We are all very excited!! This was a Christmas gift from my father in law and I couldn't be happier!

I have always wanted to do a cruise and now I am!!!

Any tips of what to expect?

Welcome to cruise chat. I just posted a reply to your question about getting a shot before going. You and your family will have a wonderful time. Princess has a children's program that will keep your son busy and entertained so y'all can enjoy some time to yourselves. We've not sailed on the Star, just the Sea, Sun and Dawn, but to me Princess does it best. All of our Princess cruises have been wonderful. The service is wonderful, the food has been great, and the ships have been immaculate. Princess has an adult pool as well as a family pool. The ships are easy to find your way around. The staff has been friendly and courteous. We've booked almost all of our excursions through Princess and have enjoyed all of them. What a wonderful gift your FIL gave you and your family. Ask him if he wants to adopt me!
