Is there a fee to use the safes in the staterooms? If so, how much?

No fee on the Island Princess or Star Princess; believe no fee therefore on any Princess. Safe takes up one shelf of the tiny closet shelving; it's about 9" wide and maybe 10" high. Easy to use for money & jewelry.

I'm glad the safes were available to us. Easy to use and made me feel safe leaving credit cards/money and jewerly in our room.

Never heard of a fee on any ship for the safes, it's always been free on all our cruises.
