We are all signed up for the Grand Princess Arpil 8th Ship. Can hardly wait. Does anyone know how I get the soda cards? Whom do I have to call to make that arrangement? If anyone else is going on this cruise would love to hear from you. I have a 15 year old, and he is my jeans boy. They are nice looking not holes or tears, however I have told him that he is going to have to wear slacks for dinner in the dinning room. He is asking me to find out if dress up jeans are ok. I read on the web site no jeans. I appreciate all the imput I can get.
Jeans will be frowned upon in the dining room for dinner. The rest of the day/evening, he'll be fine in them (especially the "dressup" ones with no holes. ) He'll survive wearing slacks! Formal nights he will need to have at least a tie as well, but if he rebels too hard he may get away without it (he'll just be underdressed - but then, he probably won't care.) Or you/he can eat in the buffet on formal nights - same food, no ambience, and you serve yourself, but dressing up isn't necessary.

Nancy, As soon as you board the ship you will see wait & bar staff selling the soda cards. They give you a sticker to place on your cruise card. You can get a plastic tumbler with the card. I never get it, as it is too small. At the bar I ask for the jumbo sized glass for my diet coke.
Jeans are not considered dress-up even for young adults. I will tell you I saw many wearing jeans on my last cruise (Baltic). I even mentioned it to friends that work on the ship. The enforcement of the jeans policy varies ship to ship. Other times I have seen men in jeans not allowed to the dining room. IF the jeans thing is a huge deal your son can always go for dinner in Horizon Court. Casual all the time. Enjoy the cruise planning. It will be here before you know it. I'm on the Grand next July. Can't wait too
