Penny,

My cruise is in May also. I haven't received any documents from Princess. What docs are you dancing about?

kjp, at 40 days out, you should have received your pre-cruise packet by now if you have made your final payment. I would contact your travel agent or Princess right away.

Thanks Rick. I spoke too soon. I did receive a packet at approx. 75 days out containing luggage tags, etc. I was thinking I would receive something else near 45 days out. I spoke with Princess. I think I'm fine. I booked air and transportation on my own.

Congrats to all. Nadine, I can't believe it's finally here. Don't go shopping!! Yes, the cover charge was for the specialty restaurant. It was the Crown Grill on the Emerald, I think it's the Sterling Steakhouse on the Caribbean. So I don't know if the menu will be the same. Kjp, that's all you'll receive from Princess. You can print your e-docs now. I'm still dancing, and you're right-a 3 day cruise is better than no cruise!! I know it will seem like I just went to sleep and it is over, but it will sure help to hold me over until July. Let's celebrate!

Good news, kjp;

yes, 45 days out is when you receive your flight arrangements IF you booked them through Princess. As Penny said, all you need to do now (if you haven't already) is print out your boarding pass.

If your cruise includes a stop in the Bahamas, including HAL's private island, you'll need to fill out the Bahamas Immigration Forms that will arrive with the preliminary documents.

Which cruise are you on?

The one in May is just to Princess Cays and back. The one in July is to Cozumel and back. The one in December is the biggie, we visit: St. Barthelemy, St. Lucia, Tobago, Devil's Island, Barbados, Antigua, and Virgin Gorda. I'm glad it's still 9 months away, it's REALLY expensive to me. Now, if I can just talk my boss into a raise--not going to happen. In fact, they're talking about cutting our pay 14%. Maybe I'll have the strength to work 2 jobs after I get through with chemo in June.

They all sound nice Penny, but that December one sounds outstanding! Lots of unique ports.

The May and July ones will be nice getaways. And with your chemo done in June, the July one will be a huge celebration!

Congratulations Marguerite! I'll just keep right on dancing. Are you sailing on the Caribbean Princess? She's a beautiful ship. Here's some pictures of the Emerald (a sister ship) if you'd like to take a look. Here's hoping for perfect weather and a perfect cruise! By the way, welcome to Cruise-Chat!

Hi Penny,

We will be on the April 27th, Caribbean Princess 4 nighter, and we are doing the short cruise because CB is our favorite ship so far out of the Princess ships. It leaves Florida to go to leave out of NYC soon and we needed one more time before she left us. Although I just found out she'll be leaving out of San Juan in 2009. Wish you were on our cruise we have a large group going and it will be a really fun time!! Because the cruise is short we have decided to just eat most of our dinners up at Cafe Caribe. It is a great buffet place at the rear of the ship and as rumor has it the first night is a Seafood buffet, (I thought it wouldn't be on the shorter cruise but someone found out it is, but don't tell anyone) Wink They have Maine lobster claws, king crab legs and piles of shrimp. DH saw a prime rib that would make any beef lover swoon!

Marguerite, I've got you beat! I'm leaving April 6 on a cruise I booked on December 29, 2006; my countdown started at 464; I thought it would never get here. However, I've been on two in the interim, so it's not all bad.

Fllady, the seafood buffet sounds amazing. I know I'm wierd, but I like crab a whole lot more than lobster. Espcially Florida stone crab claws. For some reason they have decided the stone crab is better when it is served chilled, but I totally disagree. When I used to live there you could get them steamed with drawn butter-yummo! Sounds like the April 27th cruise is going to be jammin'. It wasn't one of the options for the gambling cruises, though. F-mattox, I started my countdown for my December cruise at 374 days out. You definitely have me beat! It sure helps to have one or two in between. After the December cruise, it might be a while before I can do a 10-14 day cruise again. So I guess I'll have to be happy with shorter ones. Mobile is our closest gateway, sure wish some other cruise lines would start sailing out of there. Right now, it's only Carnival.
