Sorry, but most cruise lines won't allow liquor in your stateroom. Wine or champagne is allowed. HERE is a link to Princess Cruise Line's policy on this subject.

Actually, this is not quite accurate. Almost all the cruise lines now prohibit passengers from bringing liquor on-board. If you do purchase liquor ashore, they will normally take it from you when you re-board and than return it to your cabin the last night of the cruise. However, you can purchage liquor aboard for you stateroom by ordering via room service. The prices are not cheap, and on some cruise lines they sell you smaller bottles (375 ml) but, and this is the important part, if you want to the booze and pay the price you can drink till your hearts content. Some passengers have had luck smuggling booze aboard in their checked luggage, but its hit or miss.

Well i would never try and bring liquor on board if the rule is you shouldnt. I only wanted a small bottle in my state room to maybe have a small drink before dinner or to just relax. My husband does not drink at all but i do enjoy one once in a while. So to bring wine or something that is ok onboard wouldnt work for me as i would have that bottle of wine for 15 days lol. Oh well just didnt want to go to the bars all the time but will wait till i board to find out. Thanks everyone for your response.

Hi there!
Last year, I was on the Costa Magica and we brough liquor in our luggage and were able to drink it in our room.
I think this is the only way you could go about doing that!!!
Besides, I think it would be quite foolish to order a whole bottle of booze from the ship at 50$-60$ a pop when you can bring one along for $20...

I would bring a bottle on board in spite of the rules, but if you feel obliged to follow the rules do you like port wine? The higher alcohol content of port wine prevents it from spoiling. So one bottle could easily last your whole cruise.

Don't remember if Princess has minibars with little bottles of alcohol & beer. I know on the Carnival Freedom our fridge was stocked daily with liquor, pop & beer. What ever we drank they would replenish, although you do pay for it.I found it came in VERY handy when you wanted a drink in your cabin.

Princess offers one complimentary mini-bar set up in their full suites; and also in the mini-suites for Elite level Captain's Circle members.

Hey,

Bringing liquor onboard a Princess cruise is prohibited, yet usually on the first day Princess has a special that allows you to purchase liquor and it will be delivered to your stateroom. However, any time past that, liquor bought on board will be packaged and delivered on your last night aboard.

Usually Princess security (when boarding the ship), doesnt see liquor that is bought on the islands and brought aboard.

Good luck!

I usually get a big bottle of water from the store and a bottle of vodka. Drink the water, put the vokda in the water bottle, and voila, they never notice.
