I am looking at planning our first cruise and have a quick question for those who have done it before.

In reviewing what was written about the Princess Cruise it seam to be about 50/50 on good and bad comments however I can not find any that liked the "land" portion of the trip on the cruisetours. We are trying to decide if we are going to go on the 3 day land trip just the cruise and was wondering if anyone advice or has gone on it and would recommend it also what order would make the best sense the land first then cruise or the other way?

Thanks

Hi Oedi, and welcome to cruise-chat!
Look at me; registered less than two weeks, and I'm greeting new cruisers; well, that's the kind of site it is--everybody's real friendly and eager to help.

OOPS! I hit the wrong key--Sorry! I found out the edit/delete icon is only for staff; I need to be more careful.
Anyway, GO TO ALASKA! It's wonderful. And take the cruisetour--you'll miss so much if you don't. I'm not sure where you got the 50/50 good to bad ratio: I seldom hear anything negative about Princess. I've sailed with them many times and have nothing but praise.
My choice is to do the land portion first; then the cruise is just the icing on the cake.
Go Princess; go HAL; go Carnival; but go to Alaska!

Thanks for the welcome and the information. We deside to only do the cruise this year. As this is our first every curise we going to start out small and if we like it we can go back and do the land stuff next time.

July 7th all booked up now.

Again thanks for the welcome and info
