We are planning a Thanksgiving cruise on the Grand and will be taking our 2 boys (10 and 12). They are concerned that the kids activities for the 7-12 range will be too young for them. Does anyone know if the cruise line is strict with keeping the age groups separated? They are both big for their age and usually hang out with kids older than them playing lots of Playstation, etc. Do you think they would allow them to be in the teen areas with the 13-17 crowd or are they pretty strict on the ship with admittance to the teen activities?

We were on the Grand a year ago and had two 12 year olds. They are strick about the age groups. We also had a 15 and 17 year old that the younger ones wanted to hang with, but they are very strick and wouldn't allow them in the older group. But, not to worry, the 12 year-olds found may kids their age not signed up with the kids activity group. They all hung around together and had a ball. The Grand has a nice video arcade that the kids loved. There is plenty of stuff for younger kids to do without signing up for the kids crew. Enjoy your cruise. The boat is incredible!

We are also taking the Thanksgiving Cruise on the Grand. We were on the Grand Princess in the Med. this June. I have children ages 12,13 and 15. They were very strict about the childrens ages in the teen center. They would not allow my 12 year old in there. One reason was that the teen center is open until 3:00am. Also, when your children are in the teen center they can come and go as they wish. In the youth center you can allow your 12 year old to sign in and out himself or you can sign him in and out. My 12 year old son enjoyed the activities in the youth center. The activities in the Teen Center were more for the age group of 15-16.
