Hi all

I am wondering if anyone besides me plans to take a voyage on the soon to launch Crown Princess. Trying to get details has been like pulling teeth and so I thought maybe we could share information. Smile

Hmmm, I guess I am running solo here. Well, if you're not going, has anyone heard any tidbits on the Crown?

Princess has indeed been oddly silent about the new Crown. It took forever for anything to show up on their website. I haven't heard much in the trade publications. We thought about booking this ship - the run from NYC with a day in Bermuda sounds like a nice itinerary - but in the end I went with another cruise line.

When is your cruise?

My mother and I are going on the 8/7 cruise from NYC to the Caribbean. My first cruise, her 4th, but first on Pricess. Really looking forward to it. Will be happy to post trip report once we return.

My wife and I cruised on Grand Princess' Grand Mediterranean Cruise last summer and were very pleased with the Pricess line. This was our 6th cruise, but first w/ Princess. When friends asked us to join them on the Crown Princess July 20th, we jumped at the chance.
The ship sounds like it has most of the same featues as the Grand Princess, adding a few more things in here and there.
What kind of information are you looking for? I'll try to help
Jim

Hi all

Since my original post, I've learned a lot more info, some of which I got by writing to Princess directly.

The Crown sounds great, and we're scheduled on two cruises with her. Smile One of these days, I vow to take a smaller Princess ship but that will likely happen for Panama or some other itinerary.

We are booked on Crown Princess 9/30. We will drive from Boston and the only worry is parking at Red Hook. Supposed to be for 500 and that just doesn't seem adequate considering the Crown and QM2 sail the same day. That is 6,000 passengers combined. We shall see what happens June & July.

I just booked a cruise on the Crown this weekend. (My 28th cruise and 7th with Princess.) We are doing the 8-day cruise from NY to San Juan when they reposition her for winter sailings out of Puerto Rico. I didn't even realize they had a new ship coming out until I got a mailing on her last week but it was nothing more than a picture and brief synopsis. I would love to learn as much as I can about her if anyone has any information.

Also, has anyone sailed on Princess out of New York before? Do they have a platinum check-in, etc. from NYC like they do in other embarkation points? Is it an organized terminal or a semi-controlled chaos? By any chance does anyone have any idea how much a cab is from JFK to the cruise ship terminal?

Thank you all!

My husband and I are booked on the maiden voyage on 6/14 from NYC. I also have been having difficulty getting information. Even the Princess website does not have much - not even the phone number to leave for family!

Crown Princess arrived in NYC today and inaugural sailing is June 14. Then at least we will posted reviews. They moved the Italian restaurant Sabatini's up to the top deck up front with lots of glass. The atrium is supposed to be like a piazza with a cafe and other innovations as a gathering place. There will be an area for adults only. Can't wait to sail on this ship.

Wave Hi everyone. My husband and I are new cruisers having "won" our cruise on the Crown Princess. We sail from San Juan December 2-9, 2006. Anyone else booked for this cruise. I can't tell you how glad I was to get to this forum to find out other's were having problems getting information on the new Crown Princess as well was a relief somewhat. I have appreciated the wealth of information on this forum on basically "cruising" which has been helpful. I am curious and anxious to see what we will hear and see on June 14th as well!

Hi Kate,My husband and I are first time cruisers and wll be joining you on Sept.12 I am so excited I feel like I'm going to bust!! I found this site by accident and was hoping to meet someone who is going the same time as we are and hear you are! My son is on the ship right now,he called me from Purto Rico yesterday and said he was having a great time he said the ship is BIG! the rooms are a little small and the food is good.He will be back on Sunday so I will be asking him lots and lots of questions.I have found out a lot on this site. Nice meeting you hope to hear from you soon. Vita
