We will be cruising on the Golden in January and would like to bring some wine onboard with us. I don't think it is feasible to fly with a few bottles of wine in our luggage.
Does anyone know of places in San Juan where we can purchase wine to bring onboard with us?
Also, will the room steward be able to provide us with a corkscrew, since airport security would probably take it away from us if we were to pack one in our luggage.
We take wine on board every cruise. I have the most fantastic wine-carrier which is light weight and the bottles never break. Do a search on Amazon.com for "Built NY Two-Bottle Tote". I ordered 3, they aren't expensive. We also always pack our corkscrew and it has never been a problem. Princess claims they will charge a "uncorking fee" at dinner if you bring your own wine, but we have rarely been charged for that service.

We are also going in Jan. on the Golden. Are you going on the 7th? We were wondering the same thing and have heard VERY mixed ideas about the wine and beer coming onboard.
We are going on the January 14th cruise. We have heard that it's OK to bring wine and that they charge a $10- cork fee if you have it with dinner but, based on the price of drinks on the ship, it still seems well worth bringing wine or beer on board. We haven't gotten any specific info but, it sound like there are liquor stores in San Juan where you can buy wine. I'm not sure about price or location but, I hope to learn more before January.
Last time we cruised Princes out of San Juan (a year ago April) there was a duty free right there in the terminal. Wine was reasonable. Walked right on the boat with it. Bring your own cork screw.
