Hey,

My husband and I are booked on the Grand for August 2006 from Barcelona to do the Med. However, RCL also has a ship (Brillance of the Seas) that goes to the Med. around the same time has the Grand. We have saved up for a while to do this cruise and would like to have the best time possible. If anyone could offer their preference on ships it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!!!

I would strongly urge you to continue to gather as much information about this all-important voyage/vacation of yours. If you do not know this one basic difference between the itineraries of the Grand Princess and the Brilliance of the Seas, then you have not gotten enough information from your travel agent or husband or yourself.

The Brilliance of the Seas travels round trip from Barcelona to Barcelona. The Grand Princess travels one-way between different ports of embarkation and disembarkation---Barcelona, Rome, Venice---depending on the itinerary.

If you are going to bother to "do the Med", please, for your own enjoyment, find out a bit about the itineraries.

I agree with the previous writer. What I can say is that my partner and I sailed on the Brilliance on the Mediterrean Cruise - starting in Barcelona and returning to Barcelona 12 nights and it was absolutely wonderful. You should consider one thing more and that is that it will likely be much cheaper to get a return ticket from wherever you live to Barcelona rather than a one way to Barcelona and a return from another port. On the other hand if you have the money you can stay for a couple of nights in Barcelona and another city.
