We received our pre-cruise packet today. Our cruise/land tour is for the end of May. When reading the packet it states that the carryon for the land portion of the trip should be no more than 17X14X4. Our carryon bags are the standard 21X19X7 which is allowable with the airlines. Princess states that the smaller size is due to space restrictions on the train. My question to those of you who have been on a cruise/land tour: Will we be allowed to take our carryon bag on the train? IWill our 21" bag fit under the seats in the train / motorcoach, etc? We will be using these bags for the days that we have booked prior to and post cruise. ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE IS APPRECIATED. About a month ago, our TA contacted Princess while we were in her office. At that time, she was told by a Princess representative that there were NO restrictions on luggage for the cruise or land tour. Whatever was allowed by the airlines would be accepted. However, the information forwarded to us states a different policy. HELP!!! THANKS!
Hello, we are going on the land tour after our cruise which is leaving Vancouver June 9th and we had the same questions. We finally had our travel agent call Princess and they confirm that you will have to check all bags in on both the train and bus portion of the tour. This means that what ever can't fit under your seat, which is very small must go with your big bags. All of your bags will come with you on the land portion, so don't worry about that. I think that this is a fair way of doing it. We have 1 big bad each and 1 small regular size airplane carryon which is too big to fit under the seat, so we know it must be check with out other bags. I know it's very cofusing and you get several difference answers. I hope that this clear it up a little for you. Enjoy your cruise and have fun.
