We have booked are first cruise on the Princess Carribean in January! Usually I book are airfare myself (since I can get the times that I want!) but since this will be our first cruise, I was nervous about being delayed and missing the ship so I booked airfare directly through Princess when we booked the cruise. Does anyone know when I will be notified of our actual flight times? Did I make a mistake in booking this way? Thank you, This board is great for information!

Usually you will not get your flight itinerary until 1-2 months before your cruise..if that early, sometimes not until you receive documents. If you really want a particular flight you can call Princess and ask to speak to someone in air deviations..of course they will charge a small fee per person to get you the flights you might want.

Another option would be to book your own flights and go in a day early and stay at hotel close to the airport or port. Sometimes the cost of the flight is so much cheaper this way that you can afford to put the hotel on your expenses.

You can cancel the flights with Princess if you are not past final payment, there should not be any penalties.

Always make sure that your flights returning home are booked after noon time on day of debarkation.

Where are you flying in from? If you are in an area that is prone to bad weather, Carol's suggestion is gold. Booking with Princess does assure you will either make the sailing or they will arrange to catch you up to the ship. If you book on your own, it really would be best to come in the day before. Congratulations on your first cruise. Have a wonderful time!

Go in a day early. Most hotels have complimentary shuttle from the airport and to the dock. Some even include a buffet breakfast, and have a evening happy hour.
