Welcome Pat, Alaska to me is one of those cruises if you can afford a balcony cabin go for it. Personally I prefer to be higher up on Baja or Aloha Deck. Although I know the balconies on Caribe can be much larger. Many love to book AFT cabins with the wrap around balcony. I have done 2 Alaska cruises. The first was with the balcony. I agree you can never regret a balcony for any type of crusie. However, as chilly as it was during ou August Cruise, we found ourselves not using the balcany very much. When we arrived at the Glacier we met our friends at the front of the ship and moved from one side to the other as it rotated. Again Balcany's are wonderful but we enjoy them more on the caribbean cruises when you can sit outside for longer periods of time.
