Hi all
It was reported that the American trade
commission is about to vote that it has
no objection to the two planned Princess
deals and that the final choice will be
left to a vote by the Princess stockholders.
They will than vote on the Carnival deal of
the Royal Caribean proposal. Analysts say
the Carnival deal is more lucrative to the
stockholders and is the likely winner.
While I love Princess and would rather it stayed
independent I don't think the Carnival
deal will be that bad. What do you think?

I tend to agree - if you look at all the cruise lines under the Carnival "umbrella" - ie., HAL, Cunard, Windstar etc, they seem to be quite adept at letting the separate companies maintain their individuality - it should be okay...Bob

Dead set against a Carnival merger. If they must do something, would much prefer RCL, as that's far more in line with what Princess does. Have you sailed RCL or Celebrity? Service and cleanliness with far better ships than anything you could expect with Carnival. Just my opinion, as well as many others discussing the issue on Celebrity cruise 2 weeks ago.
