I have just a little question: I just got my tickets in the mail for my cruise at the end of July, and it showed the excursions that I wanted in early June. Problem is, since then I have changed my mind, so the list of excursions is wrong. Will the correct excursion tickets be in my cabin, or do I need to call Princess now to make sure I get the ones I want? Any comments appreciated. Thanks!

You should contact Princess about your change in plans. If you have already done that, prior to your documents being mailed, they probably have it on file, but it never hurts to double-check! If you did not already tell them the changes you want, then you should do that right away. If you wait until you board, the ones you want may be sold out. Good luck!

Thanks Karen,
On your suggestion, I called Princess and they said that what the coupon book said about my excursions really didn't mean anything. The proper tickets would be in my cabin on sail-day. I didn't ask how late I could change anything, but I got the feeling it was pretty late. I have fretted over the excursions enough and don't plan to change any (now), but I'm glad that the ones I picked 6 weeks ago were exchangable: I've learned so much from all of you! This is such a great forum.

Generally the guideline for booking shore excursions is up to 10 days before departure. Some cruise lines allow only up to 2 weeks before. After that time, you have to wait until after you have boarded the ship to make any requests or changes. If you do wait until boarding, make sure to go to the shore excursion desk onboard as soon as they are open (which will probably be sometime during the first evening onboard, usually after the ship has left port and is at sea - listen for announcements and check the daily onboard activities newsletter for those hours.) Have a great time! Smile

FYI: Just thought I would update my own question: only 6 days to go till we sail! Just checked the on-line excursions (wanted to see how full they were) and there was a lock-out for the shore excursions. They close the shore excursions on-line reservations 7 days before sailing.

PS: I have checked them off and on during the past month, and the Alaska shore excursions that were the first to fill up were the horseback riding and the helicopters.
