Going on cruise (Golden Princess) - would like advise on which cabins and decks are recommended - ocean view, balcony. Are there "soft drink cards" available? Any comments on the ship to share.

If you can do a balcony, by all means go for it! It is absolutely wonderful being able to watch the sunrise and sunset without having to be dressed up. It is also wonderful to be able to watch the sail-ins and sail-aways from your balcony with a cup of coffee or drink of choice. You can have room service bring your food and eat on your balcony as well. We've been on the Aloha and Caribe decks in the 400-500 range and have been very pleased with the location. We were not that far from the elevators/stairs. The Aloha is close to the Lido so I could get coffee for my hubby and me to watch the sunrise (I like to walk). The Caribe was close to the casino and bars. The Golden is larger than the Sun, Sea, and Dawn (which is what we've cruised on), but I think she has only one additional deck. She's a beautiful ship. They have soda cards, actually they put a sticker on your sail/sign card. Hope this helps some. Have a wonderful cruise!
