Thomas you are right!! I have the corporate office address and intend to write a letter. I was a little confused about the cruise review site but will take another look. My brother in law is taking care of the claim for airline charges for changing flight home. I got an Irs notification of a tax audit so I've been gathering up receipts and that is my priority right now. I have not forgotten or forgiven Princess Lines.
LIL I AM GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU, AND ALSO GLAD YOU HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN THE CRUISE FROM HELL.This kind of treatment should not go unoticed.I hope others will join your fight for fair treatment and some sort of restitution. please keep us informed. In the mean time I will not book a princess cruise and I will tell everyone I know about this. There are a lot of cruisers here in Florida.Good luck. Tom

I just booked a cruise on the Diamond after reading these comments. But now I am worried that it will not crash into the dock as part of the agenda. Did it wake you up or knock you out of bed? What else happened? Did the wait staff spill a lot of stuff? Did it jar the roulette wheel or slot machines to make better payoffs? We like a little adventure instead of the same old stuff.
We usually book a cruise during hurricane season with the hope of being in one. It hasn't happened yet. With this track record maybe the Diamond will ram into another cruise ship. That would be fun. LOL
Seriously! Did that little mishap really ruin your cruise or are you just trying to take advantage of the situation? I would look at it as an adventure and feel I was fortunate to be on a ship that had some thing like that happen. It is a once in a lifetime occurance. With close to 3,000 passengers it does not seem as if too many were upset. There are only a few posts from people who are upset. Not a good representation.

Seriously, Rigid, I hope you experience everything we did, including the visit to the infirmary and the 24 hr quarantine. Be sure and keep Victoria on your agenda, maybe you will see it (we didn't but it was part of our package) if the Canadian pilot doesn't push you into the dock. No problem though if you don't mind missing your flight and staying in a hotel and paying for your own meals and another days parking at the airport without reimbursement but then you sound like the kind of guy that would enjoy that. Good luck on your trip. As for us, no more Princess. Any cruise line that treats their passengers the way this company did, is not someone I want to give my $3000+ to again.
it does take some time for the reviews to get published. Please don't forget that CruiseReviews.com is run by people with a fulltime job during their free time.
Lil Your review is fine, it gets the message out there.Maybe after reading that RIGID will think twice. I think he was just trying to lighten things up a little. I dougt if he is going to actualy take that cruise.I DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR ANYONE THAT TAKES IT AFTER READING THIS FORUM AND THE CRUISE REVIEWS.I have totally changed my mind on a cruise or a cruise line after reading this and other sites.Keep the faith!!!! Tom

Certainly no harm was intended in my comments. We all were anxious to read about this horrible cruise. I really hope that Princess does compensate those pax. Thanks for the review. I AM going on the Diamond 7/24-31. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sorry for the delay in getting hte review posted. I just got off the Millennium in the Western Med (Wonderful cruise BTW) I see that Andy did post it, but it needed some additional formatting. Here is a link to the review.
I feel so sorry for those folks affected by the events.
You hit it on the head. I do feel for the people that had their vacation ruined. We save and anticipate for these cruises and then have them ruined. The sad thing is no amount of compensation will ever make the experience better but it would be nice if the cruise line would use a little PR at least acknowledge the customers. It is very frustrating when you hear the cruise director telling everyone 24/7 how much they appreciate your business and your satifaction is their main job. All lip service. The best way is to do like the voters are doing in California. They are voting with their feet and are leaving. The all mighty dollar does speak if we keep it out of their pocket.
The other remark about the amount of people that complained was to get the other passengers to speak up and do some posting. If I were a first time reader of this forum and I only seen one or two complaints about this cruise I would think it was just a isolated incident and those passengers were constant complainers that were never happy. When I worked in a factory it was expected to have 10 percent of the work force to be "sick" and miss work every day. Let's face it 5 to 10 passengers out of 3000 is not a good representation. We need to get more.

You are so right. I think part of the reason for the lack of posting is the same as why people don't vote, and alot of the passengers on our cruise and the passengers who were delayed in a holding barn (the Seattle convention center) to embark on their cruise were from Australia. They and many other cruisers don't know about this site. A lot of people just use their travel agent. People just don't think they can make a difference and as long as this way of thinking is the mind set of the majority-nothing gets changed.
Lil and Ridgid I agree with you both. There needs to be alot more participation not only on this cruise but on any that are this bad.Lil I hope some more of your fellow passengers will speak up and let everyone know about this unfortunate cruise.Rigid you are correct that nothing will ever make this cruise better but if Princess would step up to the plate and try to make things right it would help a little bit.I think that the longer that they ignore these people it will only fester. I know that they think after time it will go away, but not in my mind it won't and i'm sure in the minds of many others it won't either. There will be NO PRINCESS CRUISES IN MY FUTURE! Tom

My beautiful bride and I are booked on the 7/24-31 cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I feel very comfortable about taking this cruise BECAUSE of the problems that occured on the Diamond Princess in May. The management of this corperation knows all too well what poor reviews and disgruntled passengers can do for future business and I feel they will do everything possible to ensure that future cruises will be flawless.
I wish you all the best for your 25th wedding anniversary and your cruise. I do not agree that this company is as concerned about reviews and disgruntled passengers or they would have treated the passengers on my cruise with more care and respect.
Polarbear, I too wish you a wonderful time on your cruise. I would guess that it will go well indeed - good for you for being willing to go ahead with it! Please let us know how it went - either way - by posting a cruise review after you return. Happy anniversary - and congrats on so many years together!

Lil I think now that Karen Knowlton is aware of the problems you and the others had you might see some sort of help forthcoming. She is a T A and one of the most knowledgable people on this forum I haven't found anything that she does,nt know about concerning cruising. I think maybe she will get involved and get something done. For you and the others I hope so. Good luck! Tom Stanton
