I don't believe there are any restrictions as far as wearing shorts. Look here for the official USS Arizona Memorial website.

I don't think there are restrictions per se. Just be mindful of the fact that you're visiting a grave site, and there are likely to be WWII veterans visiting that day too, perhaps veterans who were stationed at Pearl Harbor at the time of the attack.

I just read through the website and learned some sobering facts - especially regarding why the dead crew were not recovered. Very sad. It makes me feel more proud and thankful than I was a few minutes ago about being a former U.S. Navy Petty Officer.

Dave, Thank you for your years of service to our country. Besides having a dad & uncles who served in WWII, I now have a son who just passed his Air Force physical on Wednesday. He will be a Commissioned Officer in the JAG Corp.

I expect he'll find it isn't like the TV show. Wink I appreciate your son doing this. I'm sure he'll do himself and you proud.

Thanks for your kind remarks about my service too. I spent 10 years on active duty - 4 in the Marines and then 6 in the Navy. I wouldn't trade anything for those years. They made me the person I am today. I hate to pick a favorite, but, as Zell Miller said: "Everything You Need to Know I Learned In the Marines". Smile
