Wish it could have been for the same weekend. Have a great time! Hope you like Princess as much as we do. I've not been on the Caribbean, but assume it will be much like the Emerald only one deck less. I hope they have the Black and Blue Onion soup, I'll pay the cover charge just for that!

What's with everyone going on these 3 & 4 night cruises? It's hardly worth the effort to travel all that distance for such a short trip.

I'm going because Princess is offering 6 cruises to enter tournaments in. This sailing was the closest for me. It's a chance to win a free cruise and a share of $100,000. I know I don't have a snowball's chance in hades, but it's a good excuse to go on a cruise! Big Grin

And won't you be surprised when you win!

Have a great cruise, Penny! I'll be interested to hear how the Caribbean compares to the Emerald. Oh, and don't get lost--they both have the same number of decks.

ahhh...Penny...i just got that brochure in the mail the other day for the "qualifying" cruises. I'm a hold em player and was VERY intrigued by this cruise. UNFORTUNATELY, we will be in CA that very week (which is the one we wanted to go on). Maybe the eastern Caribbean one in Oct, BUT...we just took an east Carib cruise, ugh. I am very interested in the particualr cruise ur going on, so plz let us know when u get back how it was. Where do u stop on that cruise? How do they format the tourny? What time r the tourny's? have lots of questions!! tx!!

Thanks Rick, I thought the Caribbean was one deck less. The Emerald looked a lot larger than the Caribbean when we left port, probably just an optical illusion. Kkontny, my voyage only goes to Princess Cays and back. I was thinking about doing the Texas hold 'em and the slots. I'm not lucky in Black Jack at all. Slots are totally luck of the draw, but they're fun. I'm wondering about how they're going to do it as well. Surely it won't be like the tournies they have on normal cruises, but you never know. I'll tell you all about it when I get back.

I figured it was probably to the Bahamas. I've done slot tourny's before...agree they r fun, but boy do u ever need to be lucky!! Have fun (which I know u will) and I cant wait to hear how everything was set up. And good luck!!! Maybe I'll see u on tv next year for the WSOP!!! (gotta win twice tho...thats tuff!!)

I think one of the top prizes for the Texas Hold 'Em was a slot in the World Poker Tour. Now that's some serious cash! I just don't think I could go all in with a couple of million dollars.

Cover charge? Are you talking about a specialty restaurant?

The May 8 cruise isn't a gambling tournament cruise. Good thing, too, since I've never played poker for more than 4 minutes at a time... Smile

Since when is any cruise hardly worth the effort? Wink

We do what we can do, when we can do it. Yay!

I didn't mean to say it wouldn't be fun but having to travel around 1,000 miles for only a 3 day cruise doesn't seem to justify the travel. Why not combine it with another back to back cruise?
I only live 150 miles from the port & wouldn't think about anything less than a 7 day.

We love 3 night cruises, and do them frequently. Sometimes that's all the time we have to spare. Going the 1000 miles just takes 2.5 hours by plane, and fares are low at the moment.

We'd rather cruise for 3 nights than not at all, and sometimes that's the choice we have. Smile

Make that 4 of us. Even though I'm going on another line, it's also another short cruise. Congrats to all. And, I'll be rooting for you, Penny!

Happy cruising,
LisaP
