Has anyone taken this tour? Is it worth it. We want to snorkel but not spend the whole morning getting there. Any suggestions?

We didn't take the ride, but I can assure you, that thing is WILD.

Hi I did some more reading and decided to cancel the "wild thing" and go to Coki beach instead.

My friend and I (24 and 27) took the Wild Thing excursion in St. Thomas and had a blast. The ride was exhilarating and took you to a secluded cover about 25 mins away. You were then given instructions - if needed - on snorkeling and left to explore the waters for a good hour.

We then boarded back onto the boat and were taken to a private beach where we were left to sunbathe, relax, or sip on the rum punch they had for us.

We were then brought back to the dock where the Golden Princess was docked. We chose to go in the afternoon, which affored us plenty of time to explore the downtown area.

Great time and gave a perfect amount of beach time and snorkeling, all in one.

Different cruise lines call their shore excursions different things. Check the description above, and see if anything on your list of excursion choices matches it.

If you can get on the champaign cat cruise on Heavenly days it is great, have done it twice and will do it again. Crew's great , take good care of you and great food. Sail over to St. John and spend the day.FANTASTIC Cool

PS: have cruised with folks who have done the "Wild Thing" cruise and all had fun but I don't think Princess is doing them anymore.

Hi we did the Wild Thing trip and loved it. They take you to little secluded coves to snorkle- way better than crowded beaches. The boat ride is fun and not scary. We are going on the Caribbean Princess in May 04 and it is listed as a shore excursion on their web site. We say go for it!
