We are going on the inside passage cruise aboard the Diamond Princess and wondering about the tours-especially in Juneau and Skagway. Is it worth it to take a helicopter in one of those ports? I also want to see some wildlife and go to the Red Onion Saloon. Suggestions? We leave Sept. 4th.

I have taken 2 Alaska cruises with Princess. Just took the Diamond late July.
I did the helicopter in Juneau to the top of the glacier, then they let you walk around, and do some talking. There are more lengthy tours, that do treks, etc. Be sure to go to the Red Dog Saloon.
For Skagway I highly recommend the White Rail Pass Train. It is excellent.
