Hi, I was wondering if my child goes to a bar on the ship how does the bar tender know if he she is under 21. I know that on previous crusies that we have been on the punch a hole in your room key, but all of those cruises had a legal drinking age of 18, and princess has legal drinking age of 21. So do they punch a hole in your key card, or just ask for ID?

I don't believe they punch a hole, but there is something different with the card key. Your child won't be asked for ID

We just returned today from the Golden Princess. The minors do have a hole punch in the card. Also, my nephew is 21 and was asked for an ID everytime. My sister accidently used her daughter's ID (age 12) in the nighclub and they would not charge the card.

Hope this helps.
Nicol
