Hi We are planning a 15 day cruise from LA to hawaii. Has anyone taken this cruise? Where the seas rough going west? Five days at sea sounds great to me but not if I am seasick.

My husband and I have also booked the Hawaiian cruise in Feb. 2007! Please let me know if you learn anything about the cruise since we've never done Hawaii. Would love any iformation on shore excursions and beaches that are easily accesible from the ship.
We also are taking the Island Princess in Dec. I've read so many bad reports about NCL we decided to stick with our favorite line. MY wife is a little apprehensive about being out to sea for 4 days straight but I'm sure she'll enjoy it if we don't hit rough seas.
I have not been on this ship or itinerary but I did do an 11 day cruise from Hawaii to Ensenada on the Wind in April. I can tell you it was not what I expected. I brought books and planned to lay on deck and enjoy the sun for 7 glorious sea days. Wrong!!! From the minute we sailed out of Kauai it was rough seas all the way. Cold and windy. It was impossible to sit on deck to eat or read. About 5 days out it calmed and I layed out for about 2 hours. After that it was cold and windy the rest of the cruise. The decks were almost always empty. Everyone was inside. Water in the pool kept rocking and rolling. I was never sea sick. It is a good thing that the ship had lots of classes and crafts. NO casino to pass the time. Good thing, probably would have lost a lot of money. Cruising from the Hawaiian Islands to the Mainland is not all its's cracked up to be. After 7 days of that I was ready to jump ship!
Well, I've been to Alaska on Princess but not the Island Princess! Not sure anyone used the pool, but the hot tubs are fantastic at about 1:00 AM because it is still light outside. One can sit and enjoy the view while relaxing in the hot tub. I highly recommend it.
rbum- we returned from Alaska 9/18/ 06 where we took a 10 day cruise tour with Princess. 7 days sailing on the Island and yes people used both pools, the Lido and Lotus,(enclosed), pools and hot tubs. We had a great time, the ship, crew and land tour was magnifcient. I would highly recommend this trip.

Tbanks JC 49. I heard from another Alaskan Cruiser that said the pools were only open one day. They went in May also. Even if we do not set foot in the pool, we are looking to have a great time.
