Need help picking the right ship for April Eastern Caribbbean cruise: (already have airfare to South Florida)
About us:
we are are 30-somethings, no kids yet, seeking relaxing cruise with plenty of activities if we opted to "do something" on the days at sea, we like to be pampered, and look at every vacation like another honeymoon(busy working lifestyles without much time together) neither of us like huge crowds/waiting in line or very small spaces-will likely book a suite or largest cabin with veranda..we like the idea of dressing up for dinner, also of good food/service, are not huge partiers, but will like to have a few drinks in lounge, see a show or two, maybe do some dancing!

considering Celebrity Millenium, RCI Navigator, HAL Zuiderdam, Golden Princess, or NCL Dawn...

any opinions on which ship would best suit us are appreciated!

I can highly recommend Celebrity. Excellent food with plenty of activities, and not overloaded with children for the most part. Might be a bit more due to Spring break, etc. I like Princess, and have heard good and bad about the Golden, though I haven't sailed on her. You better hurry and book if you're refering to this March. Go to a cruise only travel agent if there's one in your area. DON'T use the internet. A good agent is worth their weight in gold, and can answer a lot of questions for you. Good luck! wink

ckw,

It sounds like you are looking for a more refined type of cruising and not the mass market type. Although the major lines are good IMHO you could look into either Crystal are Seabourn. They are a smaller and more upscale cruising. They do not have many children on these line. Also, the internet CAN be a great place for finding and booking a cruise.

You might also want to check out Holland America...an excellent cruise line. You will also want to use the invaluable services of a TRAVEL AGENT!! A good agent will steer you in the right direction and will always save you money....the internet might work sometimes for airfare but you actually lose money if you use the net for cruises. Cruises are so different than a hotel or airline. A good agent will hook you up with the right ship. Just a little note...if you use a travel agent....you usually can get a good upgrade or some added extras that you can't get from the internet.

Hi there. Your posting is a month old now, so don't know if you have made your selection yet for your April Carrib. cruise, but here's my 2 cents. Radisson's Navigator - about 500 pax - has a 11 day cruise RT Ft. lauderdale on April 4 with a special 2 for 1 fare. They have mostly balconies, and I know you will love this ship. If you haven't finalized your arrangements yet, check it out!
