Looking for a nice hotel/motel with a nice view of the bay and cruise ships. (Not too expensive) Prefer one that will include breakfast and does not charge any extra for children. Thanks for any information. Bobby

Having owned a condo in Fort Lauderdale, you've got a different set-up than you can easily explain. Port Everglades is a shipping/cruise port, and no hotel that easily looks over it. Not a pretty view even if you did, as you'd see a lot of freight yard things there. If you want to see the ocean and not a bay, you could do the Hyatt, but you'd be paying a hefty sum for that, and I'm not sure about kids and breakfast. I would personally go along with the Embassy Suites, and while you don't get the view, kids are welcome, free breakfast buffet, and transportation to the pier are included. Have fun. Big Grin

We are flying into Ft. Lauderdale and our TA recommended the Ft. Lauderdale "Best Western Marina Inn" phone # 1-800-327-1390. They provide a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Although we are cruising out of Miami, but opted to stay in Ft. Lauderdale the night prior to cruising. We purchased round trip transfers from our TA to get to the port of Miami @ 30.00 pp., i thought that was pretty reasonable since it will be bring us directly to the ship and directly back to the airport when returning., plus we found it much cheaper to fly into Ft. Lauderdale vs. Miami. hope this helps!

We just vacationed in Florida over the Christmas break and we loved the Radisson! No breakfast and not sure about extra charge for kids but great location. We could see the ocean and the marina from our room (and the cruise ships with binoculars).
