Hey Guys,
We have five couples going on a cruise for my 40th birthday. Every two weeks I send a postcard of our ship, the resort we are staying in before a card etc. to keep the anticipation up before we leave. We have three more weeks and I wondered if anyone had any good ideas of what I could do for the next two weeks. The week before we leave I am making custom luggage tags for everyone in the party and sending them to them. Sounds like a great time. I have a group that I met on a cruise, and we have had reunions. I send countdowns. Then daily I send an e-card/photo. How about some port related stuff. Not sure where you are going, but, for example: tropical drinks for Caribbean, Corona beer for Mexico, sunscreen, lanyards for your cruise card, disposable camera, or even an underwater camera, a small photo album......... The little cameras is a great idea. I was thinking of going to get little drink umbrellas to mail with a card or something this week. We are going to be in the Bahamas on this trip, we have another one in April with a different itenary. Thanks for the ideas.

This may sound a bit silly, but you may wish to mail to them a little packet of either little Post-It pads and/or small colorful envelopes, so that they have a way to leave notes on each others doors, or have something to put little tips in....
The camera ides is wonderful.... A collection of small bathroom amenities might be an idea; that way they can keep what comes in the staterooms as a memento to take home... Lana |

The best thing for me, is that the countdown until the next cruise is going down.
So every morning I take a look and that gives me the daily power. And then I take a look at our private website, with pictures of our other cruises. OOh..good ideas, if you come up with any more, please let me know..I've recruited 12 couples for a cruise in march (we've had our first cruise party and I had everyone stand in with one of those life rings similar to when you get off at each island..I'm going to send them each their picture with some confetti in it) But, any other cute ideas to keep the excitment going would be awesome! What do your "custom" luggage tags look like??

also, another idea I had was to make laminated cards for the 12 couples with each couple's cabin numbers on them. That way everyone will know which cabins to find people/or call them at.

OOOOOOooooooo JBrooks I love the laminated cards idea! I have a little laminator at home and I use it all the time.
Luggage Tags: Since I have a laminator at home I buy the luggage tags kits and use Print Master to design luggage tags with the event, names date and even pictures from my camera on them! It makes a cute touch and it makes it easy to find your luggage too! I think I will use alot of your ideas of little toilitries(sp) and post it notes and make a basket to give each couple before we board the ship. I thought I would have champagne and strawberries sent to each room by RC. I don´t know if you can send it, we have it on our website. My husband means, that you can send them the link to the site, where the countdown will be created. But I tested it in a mail and that does not work. Sorry, I dont know what is possible, maybe Raoul, one of our cruise gurus, knows what to do. |
