Can anyone please recommend a hotel close to the New Orleans port where we can stay b/f sailing??

We stayed at Doubletree last year (it was nice) are are booked at Hilton-Riverside for our may 11th trip this year. Both of these are close to casino and French Quarter. We tried Raddison before but is too far from everything.

I just read somewhere (will try to find the link) that the cruise terminal in New Orleans has closed to the rising levels of the Mississippi.

The cruise terminal now is in Gulfport Mississippi if i'm recalling correctly (will check and post a.s.a.p.)

So if you fly into New Orleans you will then have to drive to Gulfport.

Anybody else read this same info? Or is it just a rumor???
