Welcome back Jill! Sounds like time to start looking at ships and dates for the next one. That clears up the post cruise blues quickly.
I am addicted to cruising but my husband isn't (yet) My plan is to keep booking cruises and "make" him go with me. I figure sooner or latter he will be addicted and not even know what hit him! I have one cruised planned but it isn't until 1/09 and I am planning an Alaskan for next year but in the mean while I am trying to see if I can slip in a 3-4 day to Mexico or even just to Catalina...maybe this weekend I can take a ferry ride on the bay!!

Well, it took 5 cruises for me to know who or what "friends of Bill W." and "friends of Dorothy" was. Everytime I read them in the Capers I thought, they are on every cruise we take. DUH!
Yesterday was a hard day...my husband and I were taking a Sat drive through San Francisco along the piers. As we drove around a bend all of sudden I shrieked! My Husband thought he was about to hit a tourist and I start screaming “look, look, a cruise ship!!!” He was ready to pull over and throw me out of the car. It took a few seconds for his heart rate to get back to normal. I just kept telling him to slow down so I could watch all the happy people with their luggage going into the terminal and so I could see the big beautiful ship It turned out to be the Dawn Princess, which was the last ship I was on. It wasn’t the best cruise (no hard feelings Dawn) but it was still a cruise. As we slowly drove by my head practically turned all the way around not wanting to lose sight of the big ship. I tried to convince my husband to drive back around but he said it would be best if I just let it go and moved on. He just doesn’t understand.
Swtgypsy, I feel your pain. About an hour ago, I watched a cruise ship heading for the Atlantic on a trip to Bermuda. It was the same ship we disembarked a week ago! It was a good thing that he wasn't home, or he would have heard me shrieking, too. The cat was kind enough to put up with it.
If a cruise ship came this far up the Tennessee, I'd be really, really happy. I love seeing them in the water, so magestic. Just really want to be on board all of them!
Yea, my husband can't figure how I can get my voice that high when I "shriek" about something That would be pretty cool seeing the ship you had been on in the movies. People in the theater would hate me. I would be pointing at the screen going "look, look, oh my it's our ship" etc... When we were in San Diego last Dec for our cruise we got into town 2 days early. We went down to the pier to checkout the ship and there were 2 (maybe 3 can't remember)ships in port and it was so amazing. My Mom and I were in awe. My husband was impressed but not gushing like we were. We took all kinds of pictures. There is something so amazing about seeing a cruise ship in port. My girlfriend went on a Med cruise and she was showing me pics of when they left Italy and the ship looked bigger than the town. I can only imagine what a site that must be for the people that live there. Ok I could go on for ever on my love of the big ships but I better go tend to mylife but I will be back!
Tanja, I should introduce my hubby to yours. He could care less about cruising, ships, the ocean, etc. I LOVE it. We could leave them home Seriously, he thinks I'm out of my mind because I get so excited about a cruise ship.
I'm ready when you are Yea my husband rolls his eyes then laughs at me anytime the word "cruise" comes out of my mouth. I bought a beach bag the other day and he pulled it out of the bag it was in and said "oh that's nice. What are you going to use it for?" I smiled and before I could say anything, he said "wait, it is for your cruise you are going on...in 8 months!" then he started laughing. What can I say I like to be prepared
I'm lucky. My partner is even more addicted than I am. I had been on 2 cruises with Princess and I was getting the brochures and special offers. He saw one offer on a Baltic cruise and since it stopped in Finland, where his grandparents were born, he decided that he would like to go. So we booked last minute and he was immediately hooked on cruising. I let him do the searching for the next cruise.
Lucky lady! My hubby sounds exactly like Swtgypsy's hubby, he rolls his eyes constantly. All I have to do is say the word "cruise". Oh well, he'll miss me when I'm gone!
We live near a cruise ship port. Every time we go to town, instead of driving straight in, we drive all the way round to the port just to see if there is a cruise ship in. If there is we abandon the shopping and go gaze at the ship! If only we could get on board! Not long to our Norwegian cruise on Grand - I just can't think of anything else.

Hi Jill,
I was talking to my Mom about taking a trip to Finland. That is where she was born. She moved here when she was 12 (56 years ago!). She said she wasn't sure if she wanted to take a land trip there because she would be pulled in 100 directions (to tiring) so I told her to take a cruise (and of course I would go with her ) and let family and friends know she would be in port for one day and they could come out and meet her. Then she could get back on the ship andon to the next port She's thinking about it...lol
