We are about to book a cruise for next summer when our daughter will be 16. One we are thinking of is Island Escape, Med. discovery for one week and a beach break for a second week. Can anyone advise if the ship will be suitable for a typical 16 year old girly girl ?

A ship will be great for any age. Our 12 year old granddaughter will be going on her fifth cruise in December and is very excited about it. Your daughter will have plenty of boys and girls her age to have fun with. There are plenty of activities for teens. The beach after the cruise will probably seems a little boring.

Hi Mary,
first of all welcome to our cruisechat. Hope, you will get all the information you are looking for.
Cruising is good for all youngsters, boys or girls. With sixteen your daughter will have many girls and boys in her age on nearly all fun ships. Our son Jan did his first cruise, wehn he was one and a half years old. The second cruise with the age of seven. Also on board was his brother Frank (5). In the years we had some other cruises in the european aera (Mediterranean). Our last cruise was from Venice to Istanbul. The boys age: 16 and 18. They had a lot if fun and ask for the next cruise....
So have a nice cruise with your family
Regards
Uwe

Hi Mary,
Not familiar with that ship but being that Island Cruises is a joint venture between Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd and First Choice Holidays you can hardly go wrong.

You, your husband AND (especially) your daughter will love it. I also agree with Sonny in that the "week at the beach" after the cruise could be anti-climatic. You might consider doing the beach first and end with the cruise. Sort of ending with a "BANG"! Either way, have a great time - the Med is fantastic - I love it!
