f-mattox,

I've deleted your old ticker, now you need to replace it! That is the only way you'll learn to do it on your own!

1. Go to cruise tickers website

2. Do your ticker(s) using the UBB (BB Code)

3. Highlight and then copy the code

4. Paste it into the signature block in our profile.

5. Click on the submit button to update your profile.

6. You may repeat as necessary to put as many future cruise tickers as you have in your signature block.

Enjoy Life, thanks for the words of encouragement. Actually, Raoul did the heavy lifting on the logos and I have a guy now perfecting the site so that the light letters in some of the banners will be darker and the backgrounds will be transparent. Like everything, it takes time and effort. It should be worth it though.

Enjoy

Tom

Testing my New Ticker. Tom and Raoul - you did good. I remember this was an idea that got tossed around quite awhile ago - glad it finally happened.

Suzi,
It's been a while since I have seen you post. Looks like we will again be cruising at the same time - but different parts of the world. Would love to hear what you think of the Magica upon yuor return. I sailed on her a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Nancy,
Yeah, sorry I haven't been around much either. First I was training for a new job and then with limited vacation time - didn't want to torture myself by a visit here until I had another cruise planned. Wink

My cruise ticker does not seem to be counting down correctly. Is it not working again?

Suzi, and all,

They are working on the cruise ticker website to add some more banners and do some tweaking. It should be back up and running soon.

Just checking my ticker. I was thinking there was something wrong with it.

I've created my ticker (again) and it doesn't seem to appear on previous posts. I'm hoping it's just that it only appears on future posts. So here's a test.

Thanx,
Erika

Sometimes it takes a while for tickers to backfill into older posts.

Dave, Tom, and Nancy,

I am researching whether HAL and/or Westours chartered the Tropicale from Carnival Cruise line in 1981, to replace HAL's Prisendam that caught fire in 1980. HAL and Westours needed a ship for the 1981 Alaska cruise season and the Tropicale had been recently built (completed in early 1981).

We sailed on the Tropicale to Alaska in the summer of 1981 and I am sure that it was an HAL operated cruise even though the Tropicale was owned by Carnival.

This is important because I believe that we are past passengers of HAL, and I want the record to show this when we sail on the 3/23/2007 Ryndam sailing to Mexico.

My initial response from HAL was not encouraging as a very young lady in HAL Reservations didn't understand my question. I asked her to look further and I am waiting for her response.

Any help that you can give me would be appreciated. As I recall I already owe Dave Beers at least one german beer but I can't remember the reeason why?

Thanks,

Fred

My information says the Tropicale first entered revenue service in June 1982. But I guess this is Carnival service. I can't find anything about it earlier than that.

The CruiseTickers.com site is finally done and all of the banners have been replaced. This resolves the issue of the color of type and non-transparent backgrounds. Unfortunately, if your ticker banner is not showing up in your .sig file currently, you will have to replace the code with new code. This is the last change...I promise.

But at least everything is working properly at this point. BTW, I have had so much fun working on this project that I am going to build another site that will offer a different kind of cruise clock....This time I will thoroughly test before I announce it. Thanks for all of your patience.

Thanks for the update Tom. I was beginning to wonder! But like a fine wine, some things just take time to reach excellence.
