Don't forget Sarasota is not far south of Tampa & is beautiful!! (I'm biased I admit it) OR Orlando is only about an hour's drive from Tampa as well. Actually, if people are interested, maybe we can do a group excursion to Disney before or after the cruise too Smile

I PMd Jan today to book. I was going to do a balcony, since I'm so spoiled, but I convinced myself to book an outside and spend the savings in the casino. I sure look forward to meeting everyone, I might even have some hair by then (I hope). This will be so much fun, I hope everyone that can go, will. We'll probably just drive down the night before (after work) and then head back, since we'll be doing a Princess cruise in either October, November or December. It is really wierd f-mattox, I thought for sure we'd meet on Princess. I have sailed Carnival 4 times before, but after my first Princess cruise, I haven't wanted to go back. But for this, and to help charity, I'll be there grinning from ear to ear!

Carnival needs to take note! having f-mattox and penny BOTH onboard would be worthy of a commercial! Gotta get Sonny on there somehow too!

We are planning to go also but cannot confirm until the date is a little closer.

I hope it's not a problem that I have to wait a few weeks to see if it will work out for us but I will do all I can to make it on this cruise.

Dave, what kind of deadlines do we have to book this? I know earlier is better than later but some time lines would be helpful. Thanks.

Ken

I should be able to get an extension. So everyone keep asking you friends, neighbors, relatives, coworkers, etc. to join us on this cruise.
I also came up with an idea to raise more money for the charity. How about everyone donate 10% of their casino/bingo winnings on the cruise. Lol

Jan, you either got Bingo, hit a Jackpot, or your Bahama Mama kicked in Lol

That would be a poor extra donation for me as I usually barely keep even.

If you are serious, I will gladly do this for any jackpot or win over a certain amount if the other members that play, and yourself included will do the same for the International Red Cross.

IslandCruz, it sounds like you and I are in the same casino. I would be happy to donate a jackpot percentage, if I could just hit one Frown My hubby always tells me we could go on another cruise with the money I loose, bad thing is, he's probably right Eek

Well, I'll do my best to get on this cruise, but I just can't make any final plans this far out. (I can for me, but not for the rest of the family). Please let us know what the booking deadline is going to be.

I assume the converse is true, that if anyone loses in the casino or bingo, they can recoup their losses from the charity fund? Big Grin

I guess not...

Jim. I know you want to go and play BlackJack Smile

I sure hope you can come. Going to put to use all the tips you have given me for a good cause. Since we will be playing against the house for charity you don't have to worry about me taking your cards. Just give me a sign to hit or not if that is legal Wink

If we casino people actually did this it would be so much fun too. I gotta find a tax deduction angle out of this though Lol

I am in as well. Just arranged with my agent.

I do not have as much time to cruise the board (npi)- my travel schedule has been crazy but will settle down in late June.

Look forward to it!

Hi J, Long time no see..glad you are back Big Grin

Please cancel your agent booking. The deal is for Jan "Cruise Fanatic" to book us as a group and to trade our "group amenities" for Carnival to match or contribute to our charity.

No worries is 2008 Smile

One important thing for everyone to note: this cruise will be after the passport rules take effect. You will need a passport to cruise with us. If you haven't got one, do it now and avoid a panic next year.

Sounds like fun, but one these desert rats will have to pass on..... the airfare will far outstrip the cruise fare. It's nice to see, though, that the Cruise-Chat group will get to meet & mingle. Can a charitable contribution be made in the Cruise-Chat name?

Islandcruz.. if it is at all possible... We will be there. My wife teachs school and I don't have a 2008 start date for her yet. Probably won't for a while. I suppose I can book and cancel if we find out we can't go.

But that would be great... But we would need ChucksOk at the BJ table with us. Together we can clean up... And yes, its perfectly acceptable to ask those at the table what you should do or not. Sometimes the dealers will even give you hints. They will shake their heads or say "you sure?".. I can give everyone a Craps lesson too...

That's our plan, as well. (Only it is a husband in my case. Smile ) Yet, based on the schedules of the past few years, we should most likely be OK.
