I realize that this doesn't affect many east coast cruisers but the parking fee in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. has just gone from $12 per day to $15. I guess they thought they might as well follow everyone else with an increase & no one would notice. Have the parking fees changed at west coast ports as well?

Now what would warrant a price increase for a parking lot? Oh, I know, GREED!

Wow, that makes parking in Galveston a real bargain - private lot by EZCruiseParking of $30 for 5 night cruise! Only $50 for 7 night cruise.

Yea everyone is probably going to try to get on the wagon and up things a few bucks. The end result will be a big increase in prices.
We stay at a Hotel in San Diego that lets us keep our car there while we cruise. It is only a few blocks from the pier. If you want it they will even shuttle you back and forth. Oh course next time I check rates I might be surprised.

Many of the ports are raising rates right now. Some are getting close to the extreme cost of NYC ports which are currently $24. per day. A few have gone up to $20. per day this year. The Port Authority controls pricing not the cruiselines. I guess everybody is getting in on the higher rates and fees now.

Rodney, be careful of the private lots at the piers. They are lower cost but often have lighting and security issues. The Port Authority lots have 24 hour security in that little guard shack and drive golf carts around to check on your vehicles.

Cheers, Neil

If I have no one to drop me off at the pier I take Super Shuttle. I know people who have driven to the pier in Miami to find the lot closed because it was full.

Miami does still have a covered garage, at least on my December 1st cruise.

The hotel/motels that offer free parking must be doing a bang up business these days.

For $24 per day I would expect my car to be washed and waxed, covered with a warm blanket at night and sung to sleep by a dutiful attendant Smile When I picked it up I would expect it to be warmed or heated according to season and to have my favourite station playing. A seasonally appropriate beverage in the cupholder would be nice.

When we come back into the Galveston port from a cruise, I can start my truck from on the ship so that by the time we get to it it is warm or cool and the radio is on & waiting for us to pick it up! I love remote start!!!

ROFL! Cool

Anyone care to cruise out of Boston? Parking for cruise pax is currently at $14 per day. (I'll check in again at the start of our cruise season.)

Would you settle for a broken window and a missing radio?

Okay, Miami isn't quite that bad. Smile

Now this is funny! Big Grin

For $24 a day I would expect the same plus my tires rotated. Smile

Wow... thank goodness for the gulf coast. Down here, for $24 dollars you can park your car, eat a "grand slam" at denny's (with appropriate tip), and have enough left over for a decent six-pack of pre-embarkation libations.

The Port Of Mobile charges $15 per day. The don't wash and wax but they do go around and fix any flat tires they find before the ship returns.

Port Canaveral and the Port of Tampa were charging $12 as of last fall. It was a $2 increase over the previous year. That is about as far as I am willing to drive. Of course it always says rates subject to change.

WOW!!! And I am belly aching about paying $150 for two weeks at the airport... Now $10 a day doesn't seem so bad.
